Elonna Esther

Widowed Seamstress

Race: Human
Sex: Female
Age: 68
Height: 5’4″
Hair: Grey
Eyes: Green

Appearance:
Elonna is an older woman who handles her years with grace and beauty. While some older women color their hair to maintain the illusion of youth, she lets hers remain grey. She says it is a sign of wisdom, a crown for many years of trials.

Skills and Abilities:
Elonna is a very talented seamstress, probably the most talented in Radiance City. She has been tailoring clothes since she was 12 years old, and was designing high-priced fashion outfits by the time she was 25. Even though she tends to live in obscurity now, her clothing can be without match.

Personality:
Elonna has a mild personality. After many years in the spotlight, she prefers to live in relative obscurity. Once, her clothes were unobtainable by the common people of Radiance City, now she makes simple clothes and prices any could afford. She doesn’t need the money, nor does she flaunt it. She seeks only to provide for those who are less fortunate, never charging more than what she needs. Sometimes she will charge less, or even give clothing away, when she sees a need. Even though she tends to make simple clothes, she still does take the custom orders that allows her to put her skills to full use.

Background:
Elonna had a spoiled youth. She was born to a wealthy family in Radiance City. She had everything she wanted, and got almost everything she asked for. When she was 12, after watching a fashion show, she became fascinated with the clothing and materials she saw. She immediately wanted to learn how to make her own fashions. Her parents hired a well known fashion designer, Arren Yonis, to help teach her about fashion.

Elonna was a quick learner. The subject seemed almost second nature to her. It didn’t take long for her skills to equal that of her teacher, and he knew she would soon surpass him. At the age of 18, he took her to his studio, to help him design his new fashions. It was in this studio that she met Jerin Esther, a young man who was working with Arren’s marketing department. Unlike Elonna, Jerin came from humble origins, and yet managed to find his way in the world. Elonna soon fell in love with him, and when she was 21, the two were married.

Elonna’s skill continued to improve, and as Arren had predicted, her talent had began to surpass his own. He started touting her designs off as his own. This bothered Elonna, because she felt she was getting no recognition at all. Jerin, in support of his wife, encouraged her to leave Arren and start her own design company, and he would take what he learned and help market her outfits. In this way, Esther Fashions began when Elonna was 25 years old.

Elonna’s fame began to spread, and her outfits came into high demand. She enjoyed the high life and the social aspects of her work. She was a regular social diva. It seemed like everything was going her way. This lasted for another 25 years before tragedy struck. Her husband became extremely ill, and none of the doctors could determine what was happening. Elonna disappeared from the public eye, and began spending her money on the best doctors and best medicines anywhere. Jerin’s life was extended slightly, and his discomfort minimized, but no amount of money could stop his inevitable death five years later.

Elonna spent most of her fortune with doctors, medicines, medical care, and eventually the funeral. She knew she could get it back if she decided to return to creating the latest fashions. Her heart, though, was no longer with it. Her love was gone, and with it, her desire to create. She, instead, opened a small clothing store in Radiance City, where she could help those less fortunate. She had enough money in saving to be able to give away some of her clothing for free. Most don’t know about her past as a fashion designer, but the few that do, occasionally come in for a special order. Despite that, she now prefers to remain out of the limelight that she once was drawn to.

Ailen Fides

Ailen Fides

Former Radiant Knight

Race: Human
Sex: Male
Age: 30
Height: 6’5″
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Blue

Appearance:
Ailen is tall and well toned from daily exercise. He always tries to remain clean shaven and keeps his blonde hair trimmed short. Despite the fact that he was excommunicated from the Radiant Order, he can often be found wearing the armor of a Radiant Knight.

Skills and Abilities:
Ailen is a strong and talented warrior. He has spent most of his life training and honing his skills to be the best knight he could be. His swordsmanship is his strongest skill, and was practically legendary among the knights. There was none that could be considered his equal with either single-handed swords or double-handed swords. He is well trained in other hand-to-hand and ranged weapons as well, just not as skilled as his swordsmanship.

Personality:
Ailen is a noble and upright person who speaks up and acts against injustices that he sees. It doesn’t matter where the injustice is, he will always act if it is within his power to do so. He tempers his actions, though, with wisdom, knowing when to advance and when to fallback. He will always attempt to help those in need and will do his best to never leave a man behind. Unfortunately, his desire to speak out against injustice has put him at odds with the very order he desired to serve and caused his excommunication from the order. Despite that, he still lives to the ideals that he believes the order was founded upon, and continues to uphold justice.

Background:
Ailen had a difficult youth. He never knew his parents and went from one home to another, never staying in one area for too long. It wasn’t until his teen years that he was able to stay with the same family and in the same school. At first, he was rebellious against the family, as he had been with the other families he lived with. This family never gave up on him, though, showing him a type of love he had never experienced before. He even chose to take their last name, Fides, as his own.

By the time Ailen had left school, his rebellious ways had been tempered, and he decided to direct his fighting tendencies and put them to good use as a Radiant Knight. He put everything he had into his training and devotion. Part of him felt he had to make up for his rebellious ways, another part saw the injustices he would be fighting against and knew his skills were needed.

Soon, Ailen began to see the injustices within the Radiant Order itself. At first, he remained silent. He was torn between his duties and the injustices he saw occurring. Finally, Ailen could stand it no more and he began to speak out against the injustices. This angered many in the Order, and they censured him and tried to silence him. This only caused Ailen to speak out all the more. This went on until Ailen’s 30th birthday. On that very day, he was excommunicated from the order and banished. Not letting that be a deterrent, he continued his work in exile, trying to spread the word and bring right the injustices around him, a fact that only angered the order further. They branded him a traitor and ordered that he be brought in for judgement and execution. Ailen currently avoids capture by hiding, only coming out when he sees an injustice that needs to be acted upon. He is still a thorn in the side of the Order, but as of yet, they cannot capture him to silence him.

Ylana

The Summoner

Name: Ylana (Pronounced YEE-lah-nuh)
Race: Human
Class: Summoner
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Height: 5’4″
Hair: Light Brown
Eyes: Blue

Hometown: Farashin, Capital City of the Holy Principality of Arcesso
Father: Jiston the Wise, member of the Council of Twelve (55)
Mother: Ytella the Beautiful (49)
Brothers Treton (28), Fresil (27), Honus (25), Lente (23), Kiron (21)

Ylana is a Summoner by birth. Her father is Jiston, a powerful Summoner and member of the Council of Twelve. Her mother is Ytella, another powerful Summoner. She is the youngest of six children, and the only girl child. Her five brothers are all adept Summoners that are following closely in their parents’ footsteps.

Ylana, though, is a dreamer. Often she is caught daydreaming instead of studying. Her wild imagination and gregarious attitude is often seen as an embarrassment to her relatively reserved family. She had always been told she was destined for great things, and should take life a little more seriously. In her mind, her family was serious enough without her help.

Ylana is very kind-hearted and gentle, even to the servants in her home. While the others of her family would order the servants around and otherwise pay them no heed, Ylana would actually speak with them and even go so far as to make friends with them. This would always upset her parents, who would stress the importance of the caste system, and then send the befriended servants away so that Ylana could no longer contact them. Despite that, Ylana would continue to befriend the servants, and any others that she meets, regardless of their caste. The only exception would be the Dalits, which she is afraid of.

As a Summoner, Ylana has been taught, since birth, about the Accersitus and how to speak to and summon them. She proved to be a quick study and learned quickly, despite her frequent daydreaming. Her parents strongly believed that she had the potential to be more powerful than her brothers, if only she applied herself instead of daydreaming and fraternizing with the wrong caste.

Ylana’s 16th birthday was a special day for her. It was the day she became a full Summoner. It is the day she became an adult, and gained her first Accersitus companion, a Sylph named Persia. After the ceremony, Ylana made the decision to leave home to explore the lands, instead of remaining and continuing her studies like her brothers. A decision that brought more disappointment to her parents.

Abilities:
Educated. She can read and write in several different languages, is knowledgeable in Arcesson history and mythology, and can perform basic mathematics.
Acrobatics. She is very limber and quick on her feet.
Hand-Eye Coordination. She has a heightened hand-eye coordination that, combined with her acrobatics, makes her very quick.

Summons:
Persia the Sylph: Persia is Ylana’s first summons and the one considered to be her companion. Persia offers advice as well as minor healing when necessary.
Bufonidae, Lord of the Frogs: Ylana, Yulie and Aerin fought Bufonidae in his caverns and bested him, allowing him to be summoned by Ylana. He is a very stubborn and ill-tempered summons that always refers to himself by his name. He is a capable fighter and his breath can turn his opponents into frogs that are under his control.

Equipment of Note:
Rea’s Staff: An ornately carved walking staff that doubles as a weapon, given to her by an odd old man by the name of Rea. Due to her acrobatics and hand-eye coordination, she is pretty good with handling the staff both offensively and defensively when necessary.

Daeryn

Wandering Griffon

Race: Griffon
Gender: Male
Age: 35

Appearance:
As a griffon, Daeryn is part lion and part eagle. The front part of his body is that of a large eagle with tan and white feathers. His hind quarters are that of a large lion with golden fur. The tip of his tail is also covered in feathers, but unlike his front, these feathers are red and orange in color.

Personality:
Daeryn is a kind-hearted and matter-of-fact griffon. He doesn’t believe the stories of Aslan nor of the White Witch. All that is foolishness to him. All he cares about is what he sees in front of him. He has seen too much anguish caused by both sides to put one over the other. Now, with the Telmarines, he thought there would be something to unite the Narnians, but, to his continued dismay, he still only sees division.

Background:
Daeryn’s family was killed long before the Telmarines invaded. When he was but a hatchling, his father journeyed to the north, to fight giants of the White Witch, all in the name of Aslan. His father never returned home. Several years later, while still in his early youth, a tribe of ogres, followers of the White Witch, invaded his home and attacked his mother. He watched helplessly as his mother was killed in the name of the White Witch. He survived only by hiding until the ogres had left.

Soon after, Daeryn began traveling all across Narnia. He traveled from the far north, the the Archanlands to the south. He traveled from the Lantern Wastes in the west to the ruins of Cair Paravel in the East. Many times he saw the wonders and the dangers of the land of Narnia. Everywhere he went, he saw Narnians fighting and dying in the name of Aslan or of the White Witch, with nothing to show for it except death. Then the Telmarines invaded, something he thought would unite the Narnians under one thought, one idea. Instead, he saw the Telmarines tear through Narnia, slaughtering followers of the White Witch and Aslan alike. Those that the Telmarines didn’t kill later turned to fight each other again.

Daeryn currently doesn’t see any need to endanger himself by involving himself in any of the conflicts, whether Telmarine or Narnian. Instead, if he sees a small group being accosted, he may swoop down and offer assistance. If nothing else, he hopes to show the Narnians the folly of their beliefs, and show them that they must stand united if they wish to survive.
