Appearance:
Jasmin appears to be in her early twenties. Her long golden blonde hair flows smoothly down her back. Her crystal blue eyes stand out against her pale skin. In the Realm of Nightmares, though, her eyes are violet in color. When using her First abilities, her eyes glow with a Dexter-Yellow light. When using powers she gained from the Realm, or when she is angry, her eyes glow with a brilliant purple light.
Personality:
Jasmin is a very driven individual. She is driven to see that law and justice prevails. She believes that justice is truly blind, and that everyone should be treated equally under the law. No one, not even a First, is above the law. She will always seek to uphold the law, and see that justice is served. She will even, in many cases, carry out the sentence on her own. She believes in Justice over Mercy.
Her desire was once to reunite the houses under her rule with her laws and blind justice, for the greater good. Since becoming Queen and Goddess of the Realm of Nightmares, though, she has abandoned her desires for Elysia, instead focusing her desires on ruling the Realm of Nightmares, and keeping her own justice upheld in the Realm.
In the Realm of Nightmares, she appears confident and in control, and almost cold in personality. She loves Eve greatly, but would never show that to Eve, unless the two were in private.
Powers:
Jasmin has several abilities that allow her to effectively execute her duties as a justice and upholder of the law. All her abilities she uses to uncover the truth, and help her pass an impartial judgment.
Jasmin has the ability of telepathy. She can not only communicate telepathically, but she is able to read others minds. She can tell when someone is lying to her. If she is wearing the memory crystal, she is able to use the telepathy to read thoughts kept hidden and even force some telepathic control over the individual. In addition, the telepathy, combined with the memory crystal, can even change or erase memories when necessary.
Jasmin is also a minor prophetess. She has the ability to see past events with clarity, and can even, to some extent see future events. But, because the future is always changing by the actions of men and gods, the future can be altered. When wearing the memory crystal, this ability along with her telepathy allows her to read thoughts a person was thinking in the past. This allows her to determine if a person is being controlled or if they were acting under their own power.
Jasmin can teleport instantaneously to any location. She uses this ability to hunt down the guilty so that she might be able to bring them to justice.
Additional abilities while wearing the memory crystal include a protection from all types of mental attacks and intrusions and the ability to send a psychic blast that, depending on the mental strength of the victim, can result in either a minor headache up to complete catatonia or death.
In the Realm of Nightmares, Jasmin has full control over the energies of the Realm. She can use the energies to create anything she wants. She simply needs to think about what she wants and the Realm creates it for her.
Inside the Realm, she is practically invincible. Her natural body was destroyed, and her new form was created by the Realm itself. No blood runs in her veins, only the essence that makes up the Realm. Wounds she receives would open on her body and cause her pain, but without blood to lose, she will not die from the wounds. In the Bright Universe, though, she would lose the essence of the Realm through her wounds, and she would not be able to be healed until she returned to the Realm.
Background:
Jasmin was a powerful First during the time of Altwaal. She was present the day he split the houses, and was saddened by the breakdown of law and justice among the First. Shortly after Altwaal left, Jasmin, too, went out on her own, leaving Elysia behind. She made her home on the far off planet of Starron. The planet was a peaceful planet, untouched by the First. She felt relaxed, and able to live life, undisturbed.
Time went on, and tales of the actions of the First and Secundae reached her ears. The lawlessness and injustice she heard rumors of made her upset. She knew that, somehow, the houses must be united, and law and justice must be established. Too many innocent human lives were lost as a result of the wars of the First.
For the first time, in untold centuries, Jasmin returned to Elysia. Her purpose was to find a young Sinister God whom she could share her vision with, to help her reunite the houses. Her quest led her to a young Meteoro. After meeting him, she saw a vision of the future. She saw the power that this god had, and knew that his powers and more importantly, his determination, would lead him to become the leader of House Sinister. She knew he was the man she needed to ally herself with.
Convincing Meteoro to return to Starron with him was an easy task. He seemed eager to accompany her, almost like he was in love. Once in her cottage in Starron, she informed Meteoro of her intentions to bring together the houses, and bring her law and blind justice to Elysia. She was surprised when Meteoro just laughed at her and her ideas; Surprised and enraged. She could easily “force” the young God to submitting, but in order to unite the houses, she needed a willing participant, not a brainwashed one.
That night, Meteoro remained at the cottage, while Jasmin was out, trying to determine her next course of action. She knew she needed to reunite the houses under her law, but wondered how it could be done. Suddenly, she had another vision of the future. The child of Meteoro and Jasmin could unite the houses. Then she and her child would be able to rule Elysia together.
She returned to the cottage, and began to work on building her relationship with Meteoro. The two became very close, over the next few months, and the two actually were in love with each other. But, something wasn’t fully right with Meteoro. He was ashamed of the fact that he was having an affair with a Dexter Goddess. He would only meet her on Starron, and was never willing to be seen with her outside of Starron.
When Jasmin found out she was pregnant, she was thrilled. She knew that the child would be able to bring about the union of the houses, and that, the news of the child would change Meteoro’s mind towards the union of the houses. She couldn’t have been more wrong. Meteoro was furious when he discovered she was pregnant with his first-born child. He demanded that she kill the child, so that he would not have his first-born be a child of Dexter. Jasmin was hurt, but refused to give in to Meteoro’s demands. She pleaded with him, to understand the need for the child, the need to reunite the houses, and the need for law and justice. Meteoro would not hear any of her pleadings. Instead, his anger heated up the atmosphere of Starron to a point where all life on Starron was destroyed. Jasmin could not get him to stop. She was crying and pleading with him, and finally knew there was no other choice. Channeling all her mental abilities, and her emotions, into her Memory Crystal, she demanded that Meteoro stop and to forget everything that ever happened between them.
The Memory Crystal flared its brightest at that time. It blinded both Jasmin and Meteoro for a short time. But, the crystal did have an effect. Meteoro left Starron, forgetting about the planet, Jasmin, and the child. Jasmin remained behind, in tears. All life on Starron had been destroyed by Meteoro’s heat wave. Meteoro’s betrayal was a hard blow to Jasmin. She could never forgive him for killing the entire population of Starron. Her heart became hardened to mercy, and became an even stronger believer in “blind justice.”
As the pregnancy progressed, Jasmin soon realized that she carried twins. She had a vision of the future of her own house being divided, and knew that the twins would always be at odds. At times, she could almost feel the twins fighting in her womb. Her pregnancy was extremely difficult, and when it came time to give birth, she could almost feel the twins fighting to be the first to emerge. Jas was the first to be born, but his sister, Saja, was clinging his heel, as if trying to pull him back into the womb so she could be first.
The difference in appearance between the two children couldn’t be more apparent. Jas did have fair skin, like his mother, but Saja’s skin was an unusual alabaster white. Jas’s hair was blond, like his mother’s, yet Saja’s hair was as white as the snow. Jas even shared his mother’s crystal-blue eyes, yet Saja’s eyes were as black as the night. Jasmin knew her daughter would be evil, and her sense of Law and Justice would be thwarted by her own daughter. She took her friend Isabel into her counsel, and asked her to take Saja away, so that the child would never endanger anyone.
Jasmin raised Jas alone on Starron, not knowing what happened to Isabel nor Saja. Jasmin taught Jas everything he needed to know about truth, law and justice. She instilled in him a high sense of honor and duty, and prepared him to become her right hand man when it came time to rule Elysia. From his birth, she told him that his purpose was to eventually reunite the houses, and she would be able to establish law and justice. She never told him who his father was, nor mentioned anything about a sister.
Jas didn’t fully agree with his mother’s plans. While he knew that law and justice were needed, and believed that the First needed to stand united, he thought his mother’s “justice” was too cold and impersonal. When Jas was preparing to leave, Jasmin gave him her old sword, Dikaios, and her Memory Crystal, knowing that they would help him in his interactions with the First. She still believed he would be the one to unite the houses.
Soon after Jas had left Starron, Jasmin had a vision of a man by the name of Adam Hiedraa. She knew the god was from a future where Elysia stood united. She teleported to Adam’s ship, the Azure Sunder, to try to find out information about the united Elysia. While she was on the ship, they were sent into the Realm of Nightmares. This chaotic Realm caught Jasmin totally unprepared. The fear of the place overpowered her, and she felt completely out of control.
Using her telepathic abilities, she tried to help the crew avoid manifesting their nightmares, at the same time; she fought against her own nightmares. Things began to change when a mysterious girl, Eve, appeared aboard the Azure Sunder. Jasmin soon realized that she had to think about Eve in addition to the rest of the crew. She knew that the realm was made up of dreams turned sour, and knew that dreams could be controlled. Exerting her telepathic abilities, she discovered she was able to manipulate the nightmares, and help the crew fight off their nightmares far more than she ever had before. She could even create her own nightmares to control within this realm, that she would use to help herself and the crew escape from the Realm of Nightmares.
The Azure Sunder was drawn deeper into the Realm of Nightmares to the palace of the Queen of the Realm, Twilight. Once they had arrived, Twilight had taken almost everyone off the ship. Jasmin used her new abilities to prevent the capture of herself and Adam. She tried to protect the others as well, but was unsuccessful.
Adam tore the Azure Sunder through the walls of the Place into the Arcanus Room, where all the captured crew and blue angels were being kept. Once inside, Jasmin and Adam attacked the demons and Twilight in an attempt to rescue the prisoners. In the battle, the shadow demon, Ixion, stabbed Jasmin in the back with his shadow sword, an act that would destroy Jasmin’s soul. Jasmin fell to the ground dead.
The Realm, though, had never experienced anything like Jasmin before. It had chosen her to rule the Realm. The powers of the Realm consolidated in a purple mist, reforming Jasmin as a new being, made up from Jasmin’s soul and the pure essence of the Realm. Jasmin now had full control and knowledge of the Realm of Nightmares. She used this knowledge and power to challenge Twilight to rulership of the Realm, a battle Jasmin had won with little difficulty, killing Twilight, and becoming the rightful ruler of the Realm. Adam had managed to rescue the captured crew members and angels, and escaped back to the Bright Universe.
