Robert Ellins
Lawyer
Race: Human
Sex: Male
Age: 30
Height: 5′10″
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Brown
Appearance:
Robert stays neatly groomed, keeping his brown hair short. He almost always dresses in a suit. Casual for Robert tends to be the suit sans tie.
Personality:
Robert is very intelligent and quick-witted. He relies on his intelligence for his survival. He isn’t very trusting as a result of his past, but there are still some that he has learned to trust over time.
Skills and Abilities:
Robert is extremely intelligent, which is his greatest strength. He speaks and writes four different languages fluently, and has a brilliant grasp on the laws of Radiance City and Neshephton. He also has a nearly eidetic memory, able to recall memories quickly, and rarely forgets anything.
Background:
Robert was born into a middle-income family. He was a “miracle child” to his parents, as his parents were advanced in age and had many miscarriages prior to his birth. As a result, his parents doted on him considerably and put their money towards sending him to schools that were far out of their price range. They were willing to live in the lower class sections of town and eat the most inexpensive foods just so they could afford to give Robert everything they and he wanted.
Robert graduated school when he was 15 and went to the University to study law on a fully paid scholarship. Soon after starting school, his father passed away. This was difficult for Robert, but he didn’t let it stop him in his school. He spent his time split between his studies, working, grieving, and being there for his mother. His mother couldn’t work, so every penny he made working while he was in school went back to his mother.
Robert graduated from the University when he was 20. He was top of his class and already proved that he had a solid knowledge of the law. This, of course, caught the attention of Kellan Tigon, who hired him to join the legal team at Tigon Enterprises immediately upon graduation. Within a couple years he earned enough trust to be able to handle many of the illicit industries of Tigon Enterprises. At first, Robert was a little reluctant, but the money was too good to pass up. He was able to help his mother get into a nice home, and when she fell ill, he was able to afford to get her the best medical care in the city.
When Robert was 25, he met the boss’s daughter, Kitari. When he first met her, he was smitten by her beauty and her charm. He didn’t think he’d ever stand a chance with her, though. Within a few months, though, they did start talking and eventually started dating. Even more surprising was the fact that Kellan didn’t disapprove of their relationship. While he never directly approved of it, he didn’t show any indication of disapproval.
Robert and Kitari were dating for two years and Robert felt it would be time to propose to Kitari. He wanted to talk to Kellan first, though, before bringing it up to Kitari. As he approached Kellan’s office, he heard Kellan speaking to a man named Miles. He knew Miles was one of the underground associates of Kellan, so he listened in on the conversation. At that time, he learned of Kellan’s business in the slave trade and human trafficking to Neshephton. It was one area of Kellan’s business that Robert had not been privy to.
All thoughts of the marriage proposal was lost and Robert foolishly barged into Kellan’s office. He knew better, but his emotions had taken control of him, and he thought only about the outrage regarding that business. He would tender his resignation immediately and go work somewhere else. Kellan didn’t take too kindly to the resignation, or the fact that Robert now knew of this side of his business. Robert was grabbed before he could leave the office and turned over to Miles as food for the vampires of Neshephton.
Robert was certain his life would be over. Fortunately for Robert, he was purchased by Lucilian Lucianos, a vampire who managed Club de Lioncourt in Neshephton. Originally Lucilian had intended to use the human a source of pleasure for his higher class vampires and even humans. Robert, though, managed to convince him that he would be more useful to him in his business, from a business and legal standpoint. Lucilian, not wanting to run the club himself, decided to try Robert out in that role for a while, just to see if it would work. When Robert helped the club double its revenue in the first month, the position became permanent. While still a slave, Robert had a lot more freedom than before.
One night, Robert was in the back of the club working on some paperwork, the club was plunged into chaos. Robert emerged from the back and peered into the club. It was empty except for a female vampire dressed in black and two younger vampires who were tearing apart the body of the bouncer. Disgusted, Robert fled the club and escaped back into Radiance City for the first time in over two years of his captivity.
